Who we are
Schröey & Mouser is a brand operated by Gatecrashers, which runs schroeyandmouser.com. In the language of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data you share with us, and you are the Data Principal.

What we collect
Information you give us. Your name, delivery and billing address, email address, phone number, and order history. If you contact us, whatever you include in that message.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not receive or store your full card details, UPI credentials or net banking passwords. We see only the transaction status and the reference identifiers needed to reconcile your order. Razorpay processes your payment data under its own privacy policy and security standards.
Damage claim media. If you make a damage claim, you send us an unboxing video and photographs. These may show your home and the people in it. We treat them as personal data, use them only to assess that claim, and delete them once the claim is closed and any courier process is complete.
Information collected automatically. Your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, referring site, and similar usage data, gathered through cookies and similar technologies.
Marketing preferences. If you subscribe to emails or messages, your consent and the date you gave it.
Why we use it
To process, pack, ship and deliver your order. To send order confirmations, tracking updates and service messages. To handle damage claims, faults, wrong items and refunds. To answer your questions. To run and improve the website. To send marketing messages, if you have asked for them. To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Consent, and how to withdraw it
We collect and process your personal data with your consent, given when you place an order, create an account, subscribe, or contact us. Where processing is necessary to fulfil a contract with you or to comply with law, we rely on those grounds instead.
You can withdraw consent at any time by writing to support@schroeyandmouser.com or by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out, and we may still need to retain certain records to meet legal obligations. Withdrawing consent for order processing may mean we cannot complete an order in progress.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data.
We share it only with service providers who need it to do their job for us: our e-commerce platform (Shopify), our payment gateway, our logistics and courier partners, our email and messaging providers, and our analytics and advertising partners including Meta and Google. Each receives only what it needs.
We may also disclose personal data where required by law, by a court, or by a government authority acting within its powers.
Some of these providers process or store data outside India. We transfer data abroad only in line with what the DPDP Act permits.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, understand how the site is used, and measure advertising. You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may stop working if you block essential ones.
How long we keep it
We keep order and transaction records for as long as required under Indian tax and company law, currently a minimum of eight years for financial records. Damage claim media is deleted once the claim is settled. Marketing data is kept until you withdraw consent. Account data is kept while your account is active, and for a reasonable period after, unless you ask us to erase it.
Keeping it safe
We apply reasonable security safeguards to protect your data against loss, unauthorized access and disclosure, including encryption in transit and restricted internal access. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If a personal data breach occurs, we will notify affected users and the Data Protection Board of India within the timelines the law requires.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you have the right to:
Ask what personal data of yours we hold and how we have processed it.
Ask us to correct, complete or update inaccurate data.
Ask us to erase your personal data, where we are not required by law to keep it.
Nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become incapacitated.
Raise a grievance with us, and escalate to the Data Protection Board of India if you are not satisfied with our response.

Children
Our site is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. Where we become aware that a user is a child, we will not process their data without verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian, and we will not use it for tracking, behavioral monitoring or targeted advertising. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.

We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours of receipt and aim to resolve them within 30 days, and in any case within the maximum period the law allows.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page with the date it was last updated. Material changes will be communicated to registered users by email.
